BATON ROUGE · SINCE 2004

We show up where the need is

Hot meals, shirts and personal items, brought to people under the bridge and across downtown Baton Rouge since 2004.

A folding table set up outdoors under a concrete overpass on a downtown street, a large stockpot with steam rising
Foil trays with lids half off and a jug of cold drink beaded with condensation on the same folding table, a hand ladling
A cardboard box of neatly folded t-shirts on the table with one shirt held up open by a pair of hands, tote bags of soap
WHAT WE HAND OUT

We cook it, we buy it, we hand it out

T-shirts

Buy a shirt and the money goes toward items we purchase for the community. It is the simplest way for a neighbor, a business or a school to put something directly into the next outreach.

Hot meals, drinks and gelato

Hot food, cold drinks and gelato, available to purchase when we set up. The same table that serves people in need is the table you buy from.

Personal items for outreach

We buy the personal essentials people need and bring them to the outreach ourselves — for folks living outside, for mothers who are stretched, for kids who need a hand.

Who buys, who receives

WHO BUYS

The people who buy from the table

  • Homeowners
  • Business owners
  • Schools

What they spend at the table buys the food, the shirts and the personal items we hand out at the next outreach.

WHO IT REACHES

The people it goes to

  • Neighbors without housing
  • Mothers stretched thin
  • Young athletes coming up

We bring it to where they already are — under the bridge, at St. Vincent de Paul and across downtown Baton Rouge.

The work runs on what we sell. Buy a shirt, a plate or a gelato and that money buys what we hand out at the next outreach.

Shirt sales pay for the items we carry to the table.

A mother standing at the edge of a serving table holding a plate, a young child beside her, both looking toward the person
A teenager in a team shirt standing at the table talking with a volunteer, both mid-conversation, warm afternoon light
Tote bags of soap, socks and toothbrushes lined up along the table, a hand lifting one bag toward someone out of frame, warm
The end of a setup: the folding table folded down and leaning, chairs stacked beside it, and the same mixed-generation group
STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Questions we get at the table

Where do you serve?

Downtown Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas, including St. Vincent de Paul and under the bridge. We are based in Zachary, Louisiana.

Who does your aid go to?

People who are homeless, mothers who are struggling, future athletes, and others in the community who need help.

What happens to the money when I buy a t-shirt or a meal?

It goes toward purchasing items for the community. Shirt sales fund what we buy and hand out at outreaches.

Can a school or a business work with you?

Yes. Homeowners, business owners and schools already support this work by buying from us. Call and tell us what you have in mind.

How long have you been doing this?

Since 2004. The organization has served the same local communities and surrounding cities that whole time.
